Hogwarts Legacy player uncovers iconic Prisoner Of Azkaban location

Hogwarts Legacy players are just now realising that one main mission location is actually a prominent Prisoner of Azkaban setting.

We’re over two months on now from the release of Hogwarts Legacy. Well, the first phase of release I should say. The game is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One very soon on 5 May, followed by Nintendo Switch on 25 July.

In recent days, it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy has already exceeded sales estimates by a whopping 256% - even without the second and third phases of its launch cycle. It’s no surprise really given that it was previously announced that the game had sold 12 million copies in the first two weeks of release alone. Analysts estimate that its sales will well have topped $1 billion by now. Fans are already dreaming about just how spectacular a sequel could be, but many are also still making cool discoveries in the main game.

Enjoy a tour of Hogwarts’ four house common rooms below.

Reddit user IamWatchingAoT has discovered what appears to be a key location from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. They wrote, “I've only played a few hours, but I believe this is the location where Harry Potter and Sirius Black are attacked by Dementors in the movies. It looks uncannily similar; it's located in the Forbidden Forest, in a location that is also reminiscent of Prisoner of Azkaban. What do you think?”

It does indeed look like the lake where Harry is saved by his own Patronus. In fact, user Szemszelu_lany added, “There is also a deer which appears on the other side of the lake as a nod to Harry’s Patronus which appears there.” It’s actually a location all players should be able to easily locate fairly early on in the story as the lake is positioned just outside of Jackdaw’s Tomb.

You’ll be taken to Jackdaw’s Tomb during one of the main missions. What’s fun though is that each house will get to this point via a different path. Gryffindors will join the Headless Hunt, Ravenclaws will assist Ollivander, Slytherins will assist Scrope the house elf, and Hufflepuffs will travel to Azkaban. Choose your house wisely.
