Hogwarts Legacy has multiple endings based on your choices

Something wicked this way comes.

Avalanche Studios has confirmed that the player's choices in Hogwarts Legacy will determine the ending of the game, ranging from smaller scale conversations to significant quests.

We are aware that Hogwarts Legacy is rated M for Mature which means it could contain "intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and strong language," and a trailer from gamescom showed off one of the Unforgivable Curses. These features, with the knowledge that there will be moral dilemmas in the game's story, seems to suggest that the writers aren't expecting every student to be squeaky clean.

Recently, the developer released a showcase of Hogwarts Legacy's character creator, exploration of the magical school and an introduction to its combat. Game director Alan Tew was explaining what to expect from side quests that different NPCs can dispense, and dropped in that the decisions made in these side quests can see significant consequences.

"Those different interactions with different characters can also offer different choice points for the player," said Tew. "Some of those things can affect things game-wide. Some of these affect characters' lives, the ending of the game... sometimes it's just about being a student. So the scale really varies but those opportunities exist for the player."

As is the case with most games that offer determinant decisions, I'm assuming that the major choice points will be signalled. The crux of the game's conflict centres on Ranrok who despises wizards for the way that they have treated goblins. An alliance is formed between Ranrok with Victor Rookwood, the leader of a dangerous faction of Dark Wizards, so it's possible that the player might have to dabble in dirty-handed tactics to prevent further violence. We'll have to wait and see.
