Hogwarts Legacy free download and new DLC event officially announced

If you’re a Hogwarts Legacy player on the lookout for some free (and rare) loot, you are in the right place. You’ll soon have the opportunity to grab yourselves two rare cosmetics - and we’ve got all the details on exactly how you can do that during an upcoming event.

Despite the fact that Hogwarts Legacy originally released all the way back in February, thanks to the recent previous-gen release, it appears to be just as popular now as it was then. It’s already garnered a whopping $1 billion in sales, outperforming several Harry Potter films. In recent days, fans have discovered just how bad they feel for bullying the game’s eyeball chests, while others are only just discovering that you can actually visit Azkaban. Some players have been left stunned by a hidden location in Hogwarts castle too. If one of your favourite aspects of the game though is customising your character’s look, you’re going to want to stay tuned.

Over on the Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account, it’s been revealed that a brand new Legacy Live event will be held on 1 June. If this is the first you’re hearing of Legacy Live, it’s essentially when a bunch of devs and guests gather to livestream and discuss the game. The upcoming stream promises guests from the Avalanche audio and story teams, “and more”. What’s equally exciting is that, as mentioned, you have the opportunity to grab some exclusive DLC.

During the livestream, viewers will have the opportunity to unlock and redeem the Merlin’s Cloak cosmetic and the Ronen Cosmetic Set which includes the Charm Professor Spectacles, Charms Professor Gloves, Charms Professor Outfit, Charms Professor Robe, Charms Professor Tasselled Kufi, and the Charms Professor Scarf.

As with similar previous DLC drops, you’ll need to have Twitch Drops enabled, and you’ll need to watch at least 30 minutes of the stream per reward. These will then be added to your Twitch Inventory where you can connect your WB Games account and redeem them in Hogwarts Legacy. Tune in at 9AM PT / 5PM BST on 1 June.
