Hogwarts Legacy may only be a few months old, but that doesn’t make it immune to visual improvement mods.

When it comes to video games, there’s a mod for everything. Generally, it only takes a few days after a game releases before Thomas the Tank Engine comes chugging in out of nowhere to haunt in-game worlds that he has no right to be part of, along with Shrek and occasionally, characters from The Simpsons. Silly ones aside, there’s always plenty of useful ones, too, and in Hogwarts Legacy’s case, modders were quick to find a solution for the annoying fast-travel dialogue, and some have even been working on a huge multiplayer mod, which recently managed to host around 160 players in the same world.

Take a look at Hogwarts Legacy’s greatest mod starring PS1 Hagrid below.

Now, one modder has created a gorgeous reshade mod titled Hogwarts Legacy Dream, which adds a lovely warm vibe to the game which no one knew they were missing. The change is - admittedly - pretty subtle, but screenshots comparing the base game’s visuals to the modded version show that the lighting has been given a pleasant golden glow, which is really reminiscent of the first Harry Potter movie. As a result of the lighting change, a lot of the textures (particular on the buildings) look much sharper, too - it’s a marked improvement.

To be fair, I don’t think that any fans felt as though Hogwarts Legacy was lacking in the magic-factor. In fact, back when it first launched on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, much of the praise for the game centred around what an immersive place the Wizarding World is, and how the devs created the “definitive Harry Potter experience”. Even so, this mod allows players to quite literally see the game in a new light, and it’s totally free for PC players. You can find it on Nexus Mods - courtesy of modder Kitsunas Gaming - here.
