Hogwarts Legacy players are praising the developers for creating the definitive Harry Potter experience.

Hogwarts Legacy has barely been out for two weeks and it’s already proving to be one of the smash-hit games for 2023. In fact, in terms of opening sales, it’s even proven to be more popular than Elden Ring. Yes, really.

What’s more, whether you’re a new or a returning fan of the Wizarding World, it seems gamers can’t get enough of Hogwarts Legacy, developed by Avalanche Software. Furthermore, the game is so popular with some gamers, that it’s turned them into Harry Potter fans.

However, despite the success of any given video game, being a developer can sometimes be a thankless job. Some developers are forced to work crunch hours under very stressful situations and if a game releases below expectations, it can garner a negative reaction across social media.

So with that in mind, it’s nice to show developers some love and appreciation for creating the video games that we hold dear to our hearts and that’s exactly what a group of Reddit users are doing right now.

“I just unlocked flying on a hippogryph and am in love with this game! It has given me the definitive Harry Potter experience.” posted Vinven.

“Exploring Hogwarts Castle and uncovering everything within, going into Hogsmeade, and also just exploring the beautiful scenery outside,” they continued in a lengthy post opening up the discussion. “Just flying on my broom has given me such a great feeling looking around at the world.”

The comments of Reddit user Vinven certainly play into a story from earlier in the week in regard to Hogwarts Legacy players choosing not to use the Fast Travel feature. Instead, players are relishing the enjoyment of exploring Hogwarts Castle as well as its surrounding areas.

The Reddit thread was full of praise for the game that Avalanche Software had created with comments such as: “I concur, this game has given me everything I’ve wanted in a Harry Potter game” and “This game is simply fantastic.”

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As for last-gen and Nintendo Switch owners, you’ll have to be a little more patient. Hogwarts Legacy will release on 4th April for PS4 and Xbox One, and then for Nintendo Switch on 25th, July.
