Considering that 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy was a massive critical and commercial success, it makes perfect sense that we’ll eventually get a sequel, right?
Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros.Games, Hogwarts Legacy is the game of a Harry Potter fan's dream. Set in the late 1890s, Hogwarts Legacy is about a budding student who mysteriously enrols at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the fifth year.

Hogwarts Legacy aside (for now), it’s been a great time for Harry Potter fans recently following not only the launch of a brand-new game on PlayStation Plus but we’re also getting a new remaster of a beloved classic.

As for Hogwarts Legacy, it not only surpassed the lifetime sales of Elden Ring in just five weeks but it was also the best-selling game of 2023. So, why hasn't Warner Bros. Games announced the sequel yet?
Sure, we know that the release of Hogwarts Legacy 2 is probably some way off but as fans, it would still be nice to get some sort of official announcement. Well, we may not have the official announcement just yet but it seems that the release window for the sequel has been massively narrowed down.
As reported by VGC (via Variety), the chief financial officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, Gunnar Wiedenfels said: “Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road. So there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that [games] business in our strategic outlook here.”
Hogwarts Legacy was initially released in February 2023 before it was ported to other platforms, so going by that release date, if the sequel is a couple of years away from now, perhaps we could expect it to arrive around the same time in February 2026.
