Although we know that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in active development, we don’t know much beyond that but according to a recent discovery, there is plenty we can look forward to.

It has been almost two years since Hogwarts Legacy was first released and despite becoming one of the best-selling games of 2023, players have regularly expressed disappointment in the RPGs lack of content.

Check out the launch trailer for Hogwarts Legacy below!

With just a measly summer update back in 2024 which featured one quest and a few cosmetics, it seems as though Avalanche Software has other priorities.

Not only that but a recent datamine leak has revealed that Hogwarts Legacy omitted heaps of cut content.

Discovered by Laytheron on Reddit, these leaks reveal a much more expansive Hogwarts experience and show that more classes, social semantics, social actions, character traits, spells, and more could have been added.

For example, players could have chosen to be affiliated with certain traits such as Unaffiliated House, Wealthy, Pureblood etc.

There were also more classes and extracurricular activities like Art Appreciation, Comparative Magic, Crime, Dark Arts, Muggle Studies, Music and ‘Slugs and Bugs’.

Players could have also chosen to ‘level up’ interactions and gain buffs and debuffs from relationships.

As a result, they could become best friends, enemies, family, friends, love interests and rivals to name a few.

There is even evidence of being able to either gift or extort fellow students.

Although all of this content was cut, the good news is that many of these features could be included in Hogwarts Legacy 2, especially as players have been critical of the lack of detail in the average Hogwarts experience.

However, with Avalanche Software remaining tight-lipped about the highly-anticipated sequel, it remains to be seen if this will come true.

Let us just hope that it doesn’t go down the live-service route.
