With Grand Theft Auto 6 taking us back to Vice City, it is no wonder that fans are thinking back to what made Grand Theft Auto: Vice City great.

After Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 would see us packing our sunglasses and donning the Hawaiian shirt to head back to Vice City, fans of the long-running franchise were over the moon.

We will be revisiting Vice City in Grand Theft Auto 6. Check it out below!

After all, it has been over 20-years since we visited the Floridian-inspired setting in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and it is safe to assume that a lot has changed.

However, one thing fans hope hasn’t changed is the wild and weird stuff that can happen across the city. This includes the mysterious psychic cops who always appeared at the most convenient times.

If you were not already aware, these “psychic” cops would randomly appear as soon as your criminal activities would rack up a 3-star wanted level. Them turning up and blocking your car once would be a coincidence but when it happens multiple times, you start to think that something is up.

Now, after a whopping 22-years, former Rockstar developer Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed the truth behind one of Vice City’s biggest mysteries as someone who worked on cop’s behavior patterns.

“Generally police cars are created a good distance away and are given the order to attack the player,” Vermeij explained.

“In Vice City, I experimented with pre-set locations where police cars would spawn just at the right time and with the correct initial speed to appear right in front of the player.

They always trigger when you have a wanted level of three or above (I think) and once they’ve triggered you have to wait a few minutes before it happens again.”

So there you have it! Certain locations around Vice City will be the home to programmed cops who just want to ruin your day. How dare you not be able to rob a bank in peace.
