I think it's pretty safe to say that GTA VI is going to be the biggest video game in the world when it launches in 2025.

Just take a look at the ongoing sales of GTA V, or the incredible levels of hype that preceded the GTA VI trailer. When Rockstar Games finally did drop the trailer we'd all been waiting for, it popped off.

Take a look at the trailer for GTA VI (I can't believe we finally get to say that) below!

At the time of writing the first trailer for GTA VI has amassed over 103 million views in a little over 24 hours. To be clear, that's 103 million views on Rockstar's YouTube upload. That's not even counting the various uploads of the trailer from other publishers or posts on social media.

The trailer has already smashed MrBeast's YouTube record and isn't stopping there. The grand reveal of GTA VI currently has more views than the reveals of Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom combined. It managed this, dear readers, in less than 24 hours. I'm aware I already said that, but it bears repeating.

We all knew that GTA VI was going to be a big deal, but I have to admit this is taking my breath away. It'll be interesting to see how much more Rockstar reveals throughout 2024 as we await that 2025 release date, but I'd be willing to bet that even without a 2024 release, the next Grand Theft Auto is absolutely going to dominate the conversation next year.

Now then, shall we take bets on when the second trailer will land, or shall we go back to obsessing over every new bit of DLC in GTA Online for clues? I vote the latter, it's way more fun to do it that way.
