It’s said that Rockstar Games is working on several other projects aside from GTA VI, so you have to hope that at least one of them is Red Dead Redemption related.
Rockstar’s priority at the moment will likely still be GTA VI, as the game’s release date was pushed back from the end of this year to 26 May 2026.
According to an interview with Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick though, other projects are in the works over at Rockstar.
Zelnick spoke to CNBC about GTA VI saying many are confident that the game will hit its new release deadline. The CEO also went on to say that multiple projects are in the works with the company, but didn’t divulge what they are.

It’s believed they’re new-gen upgrades for a variety of Rockstar games though, like Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA IV and the Max Payne games.
Remakes/remasters have also been rumoured for games like Red Dead Redemption and Bully.
While it’d be great to see those titles get a new release, the more believable rumour is the new-gen upgrades, as a remake/remaster sounds like it’d be a project to follow GTA VI’s successful launch.
For now though, it’s full steam ahead for GTA VI, which is on track to be one of the biggest video game launches in years, possibly ever. It’s not just the singleplayer campaign that fans are anticipating either, as Rockstar is yet to reveal what the new GTA Online mode will be like.

Hopefully, when the game is out and the dust settles, Rockstar will let us know what its next major project will be, and I’m personally hoping for a proper remake of GTA IV, but Red Dead Redemption wouldn’t go amiss either.
For now, GTA VI is only slated to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, although a PC version will likely follow at a later date.
