GTA VI fans are torn over what could be an official map tease that has been right under our noses the whole time.

Pretty much with each new release in the Grand Theft Auto series, perhaps other than the exception of spin-off titles, the Rockstar Games entries have gotten bigger and arguably better.

Earlier this year, we were treated to a glorious new trailer featuring in-game footage of GTA VI, and it sent fans into a frenzy. Granted, it never featured proper gameplay, but it was more than enough to give us a small taste of what to expect in the full game.

It’s a safe assumption to make that GTA VI will have a big map, but all we know for sure is that it will feature the returning Miami-inspired location of Vice City, the home of the classic GTA game of 2002.

However, it’s widely suspected that the map of GTA VI will feature more than just Vice City, but until Rockstar Games reveals all, that’s mere speculation at this point.

Yet, in an officially released piece of artwork for GTA VI featuring the character Brian Heder, he’s holding a map, and fans are torn as to whether this provides some hint of how big the game might be.

“This is our first look at the GTA VI map,” claimed the Twitter account, GTABase.

“I think it might just be a map of one state?” replied Da04x, speaking the likely truth with jose23xxb adding, “It’s only an island, not the full map.”

“Mapping Project is gonna have it done by Friday,” joked StephenSeanFord.

“It looks bigger than GTA V,” said ThanoStarlord.

“With a map that seems so huge, maybe cars in GTA VI will have 1:1 realistic acceleration and top speed,” suggested Madhannii. Only time will tell.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released on 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
