Red Dead Redemption fans aren’t exactly thrilled with Rockstar; after all, it has felt as if Rockstar has been all in with Grand Theft Auto for a number of years now.

The vast majority of Rockstar’s focus is currently consumed by GTA VI, and you can’t blame the studio for that.

This is shaping up to be the biggest gaming release of all time; talk about feeling the pressure to get something right.

This being said, Rockstar Games isn’t a one-project company.

For many years, Rockstar has had a dedicated team crafting new content for GTA Online.

And beyond that, fans were recently treated to GTA V Enhanced with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition landing a few years prior.

Red Dead fans have much less to shout about.

Red Dead Online’s content support ended a few years after Red Dead Redemption 2’s release.

For a while now, Red Dead Online fans have had to make do with new cosmetics and in-game job ops only.

Well, that was until the Strange Tales of West update arrived in July.

Could this signal that Rockstar is once again creating new content for the rootin’ tootin’ online title?

It’s a glimmer of hope, but it’s far from the concrete news many fans are craving.

Throw in the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 received no single-player DLC, is yet to get a 60fps new-gen update, and has no known sequel in the works and you can see the mood has soured as of late.

“How Rockstar treats GTA V vs how they treat RDR2,” one Reddit user wrote using an accompanying meme.

“RDR2 deserves a PS5/Series X/S upgrade. The story is better than GTA 5. Less players because Rockstar were idiots and never finished the online,” added Metalirockfan_12.

Perhaps the only silver lining here is that insiders have been pretty insistent that a 60fps update will land later this year, filling the gap left behind by GTA VI’s delay.

Naturally, I have to urge you to take such a rumour with a pinch of salt, but perhaps favourable fortunes lie just around the corner.
