For the GTA fans afraid that Rockstar Games may delay GTA VI for a third time, it seems those fears may have finally been put to rest.
It’s been a pretty turbulent ride for Grand Theft Auto VI, which has seen two delays so far since its original announcement in December 2023.
The first release window for the game was announced to be somewhere in 2025, before being delayed to May 2026 last year. Following this, a second delay came in November, pushing the game back to 19 November, 2026.
Although many doomers are fearful of a third delay, a new rumour suggests that this will not be the case.

This comes from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who has proven to be quite reliable in the past. In the latest episode of Insider Gaming Weekly, Henderson spoke about Rockstar’s plans for GTA VI’s release date.
“I think Rockstar are confident enough now that it will release this year,” he says, adding that “GTA VI will release this year but will cause temporary issues with internet infrastructure.”
Rockstar Games May Price GTA VI At $80
Henderson also spoke about the price, predicting that the base game will cost $80, a step up from the $70 game prices that have dominated this generation.
Meanwhile, Henderson’s co-host Mike Straw also predicted more expensive editions priced at $100, $130, and a collector’s edition priced at $300.
Of course, bear in mind that these are simply predictions, and nothing has been confirmed yet by Rockstar. With the game coming at the end of the year, it’s possible we’ll have to wait until the summer before knowing how Rockstar will price GTA VI.
“Why risk turning people off?” wrote one GTA fan on Reddit. “It’s going to sell, and it will sell better than any game ever has before. Charging more than the industry standard just feels like an unnecessary risk.”
“There's already an uptrend towards $80 games,” another comment writes. “Mario Kart World was priced at $80 and has already sold incredibly well. GTA VI has the influence and hype to set a future $80 precedence. They can argue that it being the first AAAA game justifies the price.”
“They should price the standard at $70 and make the other editions cost more,” wrote another fan. “Making it more than $70 just seems so unnecessary. Everyone is gonna buy this game and they'll be making boatloads off GTA VI online for the next decade.”
