GTA 6 Surprise Third Playable Character Leaves Gamers Torn

According to some internet sleuths in the Grand Theft Auto VI community, it’s pretty clear that the game is hiding a secret, third protagonist.

Even more surprising, fans think it’s more than likely that said secret protagonist will be the one to take out either Jason or Lucia in the closing act of the game.

Immediately following the release of Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer, Rockstar Games dropped a bunch of images on their official site that fans have been obsessed with dissecting.

To be honest, most of the pictures just look like standard promo images to me, although it is interesting to see which characters Rockstar Games chose to focus on.

Obviously, Jason and Lucia feature in most of the pictures, but there’s a lot of focus on specific characters like Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez and Brian Heder.

Personally, I think this is just Rockstar Games’ way of showing us which characters will be handing out missions to the protagonists, but one of the featured names has got the r/GTA6 community theorising up a storm: Raul Bautista.

Admittedly, Bautista does look like a cartoonishly evil dude, but many think that some of the images of him imply that he’ll end up being a playable character.

“I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but on the website, Raul is the only one whose picture is on the left side instead of the right”, commented user MyThIcB_.

“I'm not trying to spark conspiracies and theories; it's just something I caught when I first saw it.”

“He is the third protagonist… Notice how everyone's screenshot that isn't Jason or Lucia looks to be from a cutscene or involves the protagonists being there? Dude has screenshots of him alone in very protagonist esque fashion”, replied user ContributionSquare22.

“Why does he have a screenshot of him in car driving... presumably alone? and it's definitely a gameplay screenshot. RDR 2 had screenshots of epilogue John Marston missions too and we had zero clue. Calling it, there's multiple endings and if you choose Lucia or Jason death ending, you'll get him as a stand in and an epilogue set of missions.”

I dunno… I get where folks are coming from here, but it seems like a bit of a stretch.

Just because there’s a screenshot of him in a car alone doesn’t mean that he’ll be playable. It just seems like a shot from a cutscene to me.

There's an image of Cal Hampton floating in a pool by himself, and a few images of Dre'Quan Priest at a club on his own... but I'm not getting protagonist vibes from those two either.

Still, who knows? They could be onto something. I’ll need a bit more evidence before I’m fully on board, though.
