Those on PC may want to enjoy a remastered Grand Theft Auto IV, ahead of the release of the acclaimed franchise’s latest entry.
Grand Theft Auto VI did, at one point in time, feel like a title that might never arrive, but we now know exactly when it’s coming.
It’ll arrive on 26 May 2026 - if it isn’t delayed further - meaning we’re on the final eight month countdown.
We’re still waiting for plenty of details about the title to be unveiled by Rockstar Games, including when pre-orders will go live, how much it’ll cost, if it’s coming to PC, and whether it’ll have an online mode.

It would also be great to see some raw gameplay too with the UI intact.
At the moment though, we’re in the midst of a period of silence.
Rockstar hasn’t surfaced since May and I can’t see the studio revealing too much before the end of the year.
It’s with that in mind that we look to the Grand Theft Auto community for entertainment.

Well, while the official PC port of GTA IV isn’t that great, you can now enjoy a new and improved version courtesy of the Fusion Fix Mod.
As reported by DSOGaming, Fusion Fix is an open-source mod that fixes an array of technical issues, bugs, and in-game limitations that Rockstar did not.
It introduces faster loading times, smoother cutscenes, and unlocks higher framerates so that you can finally enjoy a proper remaster of GTA IV on PC.
The mod also adds field-of-view, depth-of-field, and motion blur sliders, an always-run toggle, vehicle indicators, and improved sniper controls which also allow for movement when using a scope.

Honestly, why the official version couldn’t have addressed all of these things, I do not know.
DSOGaming’s report also notes that the mod includes cheat codes for Niko’s gloves and haircut, and you can get a see-through map.
Sun shafts and volumetric fog have been added, lighting has been improved, rain visibility has been restored, and water effects have been tweaked.
There’s really very little of this game that hasn’t been altered.

Shadows and anti-aliasing are amongst the areas of improvements, and players should now see soft particles, better vehicle reflections, and glowing building lights at night.
It’s an incredible transformation, and you can view the Fusion Fix team’s demo of this remastered GTA IV below.
“Doing for free what the multi billion dollar company won’t. Thank you for giving us the definitive edition of GTA IV for PC,” one comment read.

“Now this is what you call a definitive update. Nicely done,” added another.
The mod is totally free to download so if you have GTA IV, give it a go.
