Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive will soon hold its next quarterly earnings call.
It’s to be held on 18 September, in fact, in just a few days time.
Why might this be cause for excitement? Well, all Grand Theft Auto VI announcements have, so far, coincided with an earnings call.
The game’s original trailer, for example, landed within days of an earnings call being held.

Likewise, the game’s delay and second trailer were unveiled ahead of an earnings call in May.
For that reason, some fans are expecting something new might land this week.
There’s plenty that we still don’t know about GTA VI including when its pre-orders may go live.
It’s then that we’ll find out the game’s pricing and the various editions that’ll be available.

We also don’t know anything about a PC port or whether the game will have an online mode.
It would be nice to see some raw gameplay too with the UI intact, as while trailer two did comprise 50% gameplay, it wasn’t all that easy to pick out.
Could any of those things land on 18 September?
Personally, I’m doubtful and the vast majority of fans agree.

“Borderlands 4 blah blah blah, NBA 2K later this year blah blah blah, Grand Theft Auto VI is on schedule for May 26, 2026. Thank you all for joining us today,” joked Reddit user ferzetto.
“Pretty much this. Earnings calls are not designed for news or announcing anything, they're reporting financials. Take-Two would not tell us anything that Rockstar hasn't already said regarding GTA VI,” added asianmandan.
Eggsegret echoed that sentiment: “Other than saying GTA VI is still on track and just some numbers on expected profits etc no. It’s for shareholders so it’s all about the financial aspects.
Any info regarding GTA VI will come from Rockstar themselves. And I doubt we’ll hear anything until December. That’s when I actually expect some news like maybe another trailer in December or possibly pre-orders.”

This is somewhat true but as I explained above, Rockstar announcements often coincide with earnings calls.
It’s all carefully orchestrated to ensure that shareholders have faith in what’s coming.
In this instance, I just wonder whether it’s too early for Rockstar to commit to dropping anything new.
It feels far more likely that we could see pre-orders open at the end of the year or in early 2026 but you never know.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the earnings call, bringing you any relevant updates.
