Grand Theft Auto VI fans are growing impatient.
We’re all totally in the dark as to when Rockstar Games will next drop an update on the highly-anticipated title.
Pre-orders are yet to be unveiled, for example, which will confirm the game’s pricing, nor have we seen any unedited gameplay with the UI intact.
Perhaps something will arise at the end of the year as the dawning of 2026 will mark the beginning of the final five-month countdown; that’s if GTA VI isn’t subject to further delays.

In the meantime, it appears that GTA fans are incapable of patience, choosing to roast the game’s original announcement.
I think we all remember that familiar tweet from Sam Houser via the official Rockstar Games account in November of 2023.
It’s the one that started the GTA VI journey, revealing that a first trailer would land in December of that same year.
Yesterday, on 4 September, fans randomly decided to celebrate - or roast - the fact that 666 days had passed since that tweet initially landed.

“Today marks 666 days since Rockstar Games president Sam Houser officially announced the first GTA VI trailer,” wrote popular account GTAVI_Countdown.
“666 days, GTA VI, May 26 2026, PS6… I think we’re cooked,” joked GTA_Sheriff, although GTA VI is landing on the PS5 not the PS6.
“And we still have at least 264 more days,” added SurvivorFan03.
“We got the 666 day anniversary before GTA VI,” memed dinnerdines.

“No way it’s been that long,” said itsfakebizness, reflecting all of our thoughts.
Perhaps I was too harsh; you can’t really blame GTA fans for lacking in the patience department.
We’re rapidly approaching the two-year anniversary of the first announcement but really, we’ve all been waiting for the game ever since GTA V dropped back in 2013.
Let’s find solace in the fact that we’re well and truly on the final countdown.
