GTA 6 revised map just surfaced online, and it's enormous

Grand Theft Auto VI's map is going to be big one

Ever since the big leak of Rockstar assets for GTA VI, fans have been trying to piece together the map of Vice City and its surrounding areas.

This is being achieved by analysing visuals and descriptions overlaying them to build the full map. Of course, none of it is officially confirmed, but if it’s even close to realistic, this map is going to be huge.

Just how big will GTA VI be? Hopefully, the next trailer gives us more information.

One major question for this project is, will GTA VI only take in Vice City, or will another city feature? So far, it seems like Vice City is the core of the map with hills and everglades surrounding it.

There are other areas being slowly built up and we see a few small towns here and there, but anything could lay beyond the ocean or the rocky mountains.

The project, “GTA VI – Vice City & Leonida State Mapping Project” has been going for a couple of years now and the team behind it are confident their map is accurate. At the last update, the map measured 125 square kilometres. If true, this means the map will be around 2.55x bigger than the GTA V map.

Of course, much of the map will likely be quite rural, but knowing Rockstar Games, there will be plenty of hidden features and secrets to be discovered.

All of this is speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt, but a similar project launched before GTA V with a lot of success. Now, one thing to bear in mind is the verticality - how many buildings can we explore? Will skyscrapers and hotels be fully explorable? We also don’t know if there are any islands beyond the waves, perhaps creating a Caribbean island like Cuba.

There’s so much more to find out and it’s pretty likely that Rockstar will aim for the GTA VI map to be their biggest and densest ever.
