GTA VI will be unplayable to those who aren’t old enough, in a move that might cause some controversy when the game comes out.
At the moment GTA VI is scheduled to launch in Spring 2025 though sources say Rockstar Games is more than happy to push the game back to September if it deems it necessary.
That’s not a bad idea, as if the game isn’t ready a second delay is more than justifiable, and I’m sure many fans agree with that.
What many likely won’t agree with is the idea that you’ll need to verify your age in order to play GTA VI, or at least aspects of the Online mode.

Little is known about the next iteration of GTA Online but the latest rumours circulating state Rockstar is planning to implement an age verification system, similar to what’s been implemented by the British government for certain online content.
According to leaker Tez2 who first shared the information, you won’t need to verify your age to simply play the Online mode but you will need to verify your age for certain in-game features, like texting and the rumoured social media networks.
Personally I think this is a good thing, as we all know despite the game’s age rating there are going to be a lot of kids playing the game’s singleplayer and multiplayer. In this case, age verification is the best way to keep those younger audiences safe from inappropriate in-game content and certain players.
As far as we’re aware this will only affect regions like the UK, meaning those playing in the U.S will be able to play freely regardless of their age.

Take all of this with a pinch of salt of course as Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed it as of yet, but I’m personally hoping there’s some credibility to this one as I honestly think it sounds like a good idea.
