One eagle-eyed Twitter poster has spotted what they believe to be a hint towards Grand Theft Auto VI’s pre-order date, leaked through the Microsoft Store.
As we near closer and closer to the next official update from Rockstar Games regarding Grand Theft Auto VI’s process, it would seem folks are starting to get a little desperate.
Nothing new for GTA VI fans, though. I mean, we all remember the ridiculous lengths people went to in trying to justify the “waning gibbous” moon theory, so this is par for the course, really.
In case you weren’t aware, assumedly because you have something akin to a social life, tonight, Take-Two's Q2 2026 earnings call is taking place at 9:30 PM UTC tonight (6 November).

These earnings calls rarely reveal much in the way of information, but they do, at the very least, offer us an insight into Grand Theft Auto VI’s reported progress (or rather, the progress that Rockstar Games wants its investors to believe that it’s made).
As a result, fans are desperately hunting online for any kind of clues or info, and someone thinks they’ve found something.

As detailed in a post by @gamers_guide1 on Twitter, the Microsoft Store page for Grand Theft Auto VI has supposedly been updated at some point in the last few weeks– although said update won’t be obvious to most.
According to @gamers_guide1, the “backend data” for Grand Theft Auto VI’s store page now displays placeholder info regarding its upcoming pre-order date… which is a fancy way of saying that they right-clicked on the store page and hit “Inspect Element”.
There’s nothing concrete here, as it merely states that pre-orders are currently flagged as “false”, but they seem to think that this means that there’s only “5–15 days before the official public reveal or pre-order start”.
So, is there actually any basis to this?
Eh, sort of, but also not really. What they’re saying about the Microsoft Store page updating is indeed true, although I can’t pinpoint exactly when this information was updated.
However, the rest of it is mostly just conjecture. Almost every game on the Microsoft Store without a concrete pre-order date lists the exact same information. Doesn’t matter if it’s just been announced or not.
It’s, unfortunately, just placeholder text, and personally, I don’t think it’s indicative of any big updates or official announcements.
If I were you, I’d wait until we hear what comes out of that investors' call meeting instead, because that’s the closest thing we have to an upcoming announcement on Rockstar Games’ behalf.
