GTA 6 gamers goon over fully nude Jason as 7 new gameplay features confirmed

Grand Theft Auto VI continues to near its November 19 launch date, or should I say Goon Theft Auto VI?

You’ve heard about strip clubs. You’ve seen that nudist beach. It’s now time for Jason’s dong to be the talk of the town.

That’s because in an extensive interview with IGN, Rockstar Games co-studio head Rob Nelson confirmed that players can gawk over a fully naked Jason in the shower.

“At this point, Nelson switches to Jason’s POV, where our hero is … naked,” IGN wrote.

Nelson followed up with: “Oh, or you can switch and Jason’s in the shower.”

GTA VI promises to be realistic and immersive and, well, showering is an important part of daily life, but soon-to-be players are treating this inclusion as anything but mundane.

“RDR2’s horse ball sack physics were a prototype for Jason’s nuts,” wrote Reddit user HairyConstruction.

“Omg, Rockstar are a bunch of gooners noooo, shut the sub down, it’s over,” added NoBullet.

“Gooning will be off the charts now,” wrote gamebus1.

And those were just the comments I can include. The community has plenty of additional x-rated thoughts you can seek out if you so wish.

Jason’s nudity may be the biggest talking point following the release of the interview, but it’s far from the best new feature confirmed for GTA VI.

GTA VI’s safehouses work more like Red Dead Redemption 2’s camps

According to Nelson, GTA VI’s safehouses aren’t really comparable to those we’ve seen in prior GTA entries. These spaces are hubs where Jason and Lucia can exist together.

“This represents an exciting challenge for us: putting Jason and Lucia on schedules that feel believable and making the Safehouse a lot more interactive,” Nelson said.

As such, the team took inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2’s camps, teasing that players should expect a similar level of interactivity.

Players will be able to switch characters, as well as make aesthetic adjustments like cutting or shaving their character’s hair.

GTA VI’s in-game phone includes a handy scanner

Jason and Lucia’s phones will be fitted with a scanner which they can place over a vehicle to learn more about that particular vehicle.

This includes whether it’s locked, has an alarm fitted, or has a tracker. It’ll also tell the player how much the car is worth and whether it requires, say, a key cloner. It’s about as immersive as carjacking can be.

GTA VI’s open-world locations have unique quirks

Not every shop within GTA VI stocks the same goods. Nelson highlighted that there are many salons across the map and while they do offer standard hairstyle options, most salons also offer a signature hairstyle you can’t get anywhere else.

Changing your hair could help you evade police capture if you’re wanted, but Nelson said that won’t be very helpful if you’re still wearing the same outfit.

Nelson laughed off prior attempts at including romance in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, adding that the team put a lot of thought into getting it right.

“These characters feel very right together – they really do. For anybody who wants to play around with the idea of role-playing their relationship, it's amazing,” he said.

“So many people on the team have connected with the characters. But physical intimacy is a huge part of a relationship, and so it has to be done right.

“Like anything that we do, we have to iterate and try things and iterate on it until we figure out what feels right.”

Players don’t have to pursue a romantic relationship between Jason and Lucia, although the duo will at least remain as partners in crime, with Nelson teasing that a non-romance playthrough will impact the story as GTA VI progresses.

Lucia’s angle tag theory may carry weight

When GTA VI’s first key art surfaced, it featured Lucia wearing an ankle tag, with many suggesting that it may be used to limit how far you can explore in the early game, prohibiting players from having full reign of the map.

“The ankle tag is part of the narrative and part of the way we bring Jason and Lucia together,” Nelson said, refusing to elaborate further, but it sounds as if we were right.

GTA VI’s world features tons of Easter eggs, by the sounds of it

Rockstar Games

After IGN asked whether GTA VI’s open-world could be compared to Red Dead Redemption 2’s in the way that players continued to discover new secrets for years, Nelson replied, “I hope so. There’s plenty in there.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Nelson showcased one such random open-world encounter involving a man in a dumpster asking for pills.

Nelson teased that if players revisit the man after giving him pills, he'll provide them with legal advice. Every interaction has been carefully considered.

Money matters more in GTA VI compared to previous franchise entries

Money is harder to come by in GTA VI with Rockstar Games, therefore somewhat gating progression this time around.

In the early game, you’ll need to make money, and in some instances, certain main missions will be blocked until you have enough money to progress, encouraging players to engage with the open world instead of simply just speeding through the story.
