GTA 6 fans urged to 'ignore' major new leaks

GTA VI leaks continue to flood

GTA VI fans have been urged to “ignore” major new leaks of the highly anticipated game, and I tend to agree.

No question, Rockstar Games’ GTA VI is one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time. Each release in the Grand Theft Auto series is huge, but there seems to be extra weight with the next entry.

Long before Rockstar Games released the first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023, gameplay leaks and details were making the social media rounds.

Pretty much all of those gameplay leaks were taken from a very early build of the game that does not fully represent the final version.

That being said, as much as we all love gossiping, we shouldn't believe everything we read on the internet, or for that matter, everything we see, or at least take it as gospel, a sentiment no doubt echoed by this Reddit user.

“Trust Rockstar and ignore the leaks,” said Pistoluislero. After all, rumours, especially, should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.

“People keep overreacting to every new GTA VI leak or rumour, and I get it. But Rockstar has earned our trust. They’ve delivered time and time again, and there’s no reason to worry about anything.”

“They concluded: “GTA VI isn’t just going to be a great game. It’s going to change gaming forever. I fully believe that. Leaks are just noise. I’m not worried at all. I trust Rockstar, and you should too.”

I can’t say that I’ll support a mega corporation, no questions asked, let alone provide an unwavering level of trust, but I get what Pistoluislero is saying. When it comes to delivering quality video game products, it doesn't get much more consistent than Rockstar Games.

“I don't understand the people on this sub. Leaks are meant to be speculative until proven fake or real,” replied ToppleToes. “It blows my mind how this sub takes every leak as a fact, even if it comes from a well-known source, it's still a leak, not a fact.”

“I would also keep expectations in check when reading some of these 'leaked' details,” suggested BDRParty. “Like claiming around 700 shops? I'm sure there will be a ton, but 700 sounds humorously exaggerated for the sake of it.”

“Like FromSoftware, I trust Rockstar completely. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an absolute masterpiece, and the fact that it was made seven years ago tells me this game is going to blow us all out of the water. Rockstar Games is the king of this industry,” declared ProfessionalKey8908.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released on 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
