GTA 6 new gameplay tease promises return of your favourite RDR2 feature

Like our favourite RDR2 feature, you say?

When GTA VI is released, it’s likely to be a Game of the Year contender.

It could shock us all and turn out to be a massive disappointment, but something tells us that’s highly unlikely.

Despite only seeing one trailer – we know you don’t need reminding about that painful truth – we have faith in what Rockstar Games has created.

What is more, with new teasers such as this one further fuelling our hype, we can’t help but feel like we no longer need the safety net.

According to a former Rockstar developer, there’s no reason why GTA VI can’t include a fan-favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 feature.

Gather 'round and watch the only GTA VI trailer we have.

Ben Hinchcliffe previously worked on the upcoming GTA title before leaving his position in 2022, and so they know a thing or two about what’s been happening behind the scenes.

Nevertheless, seeing as they’ve now left the project, development might have dramatically changed in their absence. It’s unlikely but possible.

Even if we take that into consideration, their experience is such that it instills confidence in us that Rockstar is working on implementing the best features from popular titles like RDR2 into the new GTA.

Hinchcliffe told IGN, “From a theoretical standpoint, and what you might be able to do if you had the budget and the team size, I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t have that [Red Dead Redemption 2] level of NPC interaction in a much larger scale game.”

What is more, he added that “Rockstar’s systems are very clever”.

“The tools are very powerful for design. You can switch between hand scripted and generic behaviours very easily, and even the hand scripted stuff looks like it's organic because of the tools,” Hinchcliffe detailed.

Fans have already noted that there’s approximately 10x more NPCs in the GTA VI trailer alone, so the depth of the game has already evolved since GTA V in that aspect.

Hopefully, this translates into those authentic NPC interactions that made RDR2 such a winning experience.

The next trailer, which is assumed to drop soon (please, we’re begging you), should help further highlight the level of detail in the upcoming title.

Will it be better than RDR2? We can’t say until we’ve played it. However, it looks promising. Very promising.
