GTA 6 gets interactive map ahead of launch as gamers begin to explore Leonida

GTA VI fans can now explore Leonida early thanks to an interactive map, allowing them to check out some of the locations coming to Rockstar Games’ next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated GTA VI is nearly here. Following the recent extended look at the game on Netflix, we’ve had better insight into the huge Vice City map, which is already shaping up to be one of the most immersive and interactive in the entire Grand Theft Auto series.

However, until Rockstar Games releases an official gameplay look at the GTA VI map, or even a screenshot of it, we’ll have to make do with the fantastic efforts of the community. That’s exactly what we’ve got here.

This GTA 6 community map shows Vice City locations in real-time

In the years leading up to the release of GTA VI this November, we’ve seen our fair share of community maps, all of which have been very impressive. Yet, this one could be the best due to its integration of real-time clips from officially released trailers that provide us with the most accurate look at some of the locations in Vice City.

As brought to our attention by X (formerly Twitter) user gtainfobr, the interactive map in question is available on the website State of Leonida. In case you didn't know, “Leonida” is the fictional name created for Rockstar Games’ version of the Florida state, home of Miami, which is, of course, the inspiration for Vice City.

The fan-made map for GTA VI lets you take a closer look at some of the Vice City landmarks and what they could look like in-game, using clips from the official trailers alongside officially released screenshots.

The interactive map also features markers that make it easier to find some of the confirmed locations, and it will be updated whenever Rockstar Games releases new footage or screenshots. That’s assuming, of course, that Rockstar Games doesn’t take the website down.

What’s the story of GTA 6 and when is it releasing?

“Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them,” reads the synopsis of GTA VI.

“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
