It is yet another sad day for members of the Grand Theft Auto 6 waiting room after a suspected second trailer turned out to be another false alarm.

Last week saw leakers over on Reddit uncover brand-new URLs which hinted at a possible series of screenshots, cover art and even the next trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 arriving on or around May 16.

However, with this week still not offering fans any concrete evidence, that all changed when Rockstar Games randomly posted to its Twitter account.

With thousands eagerly refreshing the page hoping for the long-awaited second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, they were soon let down when they discovered it was merely an announcement for Red Dead Online instead.

Although this announcement revealed that Red Dead Online players could earn 4X XP this week, it was not enough to satisfy fans who were hoping for something relating to the long-awaited entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

The heartbroken fans took to r/GTA6 to share their disappointment with one user posting a photo of the Red Dead Online Tweet alongside the words: “Baited again”.

One person said: “I don’t know. I'm waiting an hour (heavy doses of copium)”.

Another agreed, saying: “Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance”.

With some fans still believing an announcement will arrive sometime this week, we still have a few days to see if it comes true. However, with Rockstar’s track record, nothing is guaranteed.

In related news, open-world events for Grand Theft Auto 6 were possibly leaked earlier this week and revealed that players may be able to experience everything from shark tank diving to wingsuit flying as well as visiting the local cat mansion and space-station.
