Dark Souls 3 fans can enjoy a little bit of Bloodborne with this new expansion available to download free.
It’s been a decade since Bloodborne came out, and I’m still waiting for that sequel announcement. Any day now, Sony.
In the meantime, we at least have The Duskbloods to look forward to on Switch 2 next year. There’s also a plethora of mods and tweaks available for the original game, if you have the means to install them.
But generally, if you’re a FromSoftware fan who plays on PC, there aren’t really any great ways of playing Bloodborne unless you fork out for a PlayStation console.

That’s where The Beast Presence comes in. It’s a mod for Dark Souls 3 which imports certain assets and effects from Bloodborne into the game to give it a beastly makeover.
The game adds trick weapons, hunter armour, animations, UI, and mechanics seemingly lifted straight out of Bloodborne to transform Lothric into a more harrowing nightmare.

From the footage, it looks like lamps have replaced bonfires, and the Doll appears in Firelink Shrine.
The UI has also been replaced with Bloodborne’s, including the Hunter’s Mark standing in for your souls counter.
The images also show some weapons and armour that has been carried over, and altogether it seems like the mod is going to be a must-have for Souls veterans who want to replay Dark Souls 3 with a different flavour.
The Beast Presence is still in beta, but it’s coming along nicely. Its creator, mrSYMB, is planning to add more to the mod over time, including adding the Hunter’s Dream as a hub, replacing Dark Souls 3's bosses and enemies with those from Bloodborne, and changing the healing system to use Bloodborne’s vials.

You can download The Beast Presence from Nexus Mods now. You’ll need a copy of Dark Souls 3 to run it.
