This Dark Souls III mod is attempting to rebalance the game in a big way, and it’s even added a bunch of stuff from previous FromSoftware games to help, including, of course, Bloodborne.

Champion's Ashes is a Dark Souls III mod uploaded by SirHalvard over on Nexus Mods, and it’s primarily attempting to rebalance the game’s PvP in a bid to “bring greater balance and depth to the competitive multiplayer”.

However, don’t worry too much if you’re not the PvP-focused type, as there’s a whole bunch of stuff in here that should appeal to those who enjoy playing offline too.

According to the mod authors, Champion's Ashes adds a whole slew of new items and changes, including updated enemy behaviour, alterations to bosses’ damage and health, and several new pieces of armour and weapons.

Naturally, the mod authors decided to focus on Bloodborne when porting over new weapons to Dark Souls III, including stuff like the Saw Cleaver, Ludwig’s Holy Blade, and even the Hunter Pistol.

Considering the popularity of the mod, a bunch of you have probably already heard of Champion’s Ashes at this point.

However, if you’ve played it already (or even if you’ve yet to give it a go), I highly suggest checking to see if the mod has been updated since the last time you played it, as the mod author updated it as recently as March this year.

If you’re jumping in for the first time though, make sure you give SirHalvard’s instructions a thorough read-through before booting up the mod. As this mod makes changes to how online PvP works, you will be banned from playing Dark Souls III online if you jump into a public server.

To avoid that, make sure you check exactly how to play this one on a private server beforehand, so you’ll still be able to play Dark Souls III on a public server once you uninstall the mod!
