The final countdown is on for Grand Theft Auto VI. It may not feel like it given that we still don’t have a release date but with every passing day, we inch closer to the game’s launch.

Can you believe that it’s been four months since GTA VI’s first trailer dropped? Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we get our first glimpse at some gameplay - and that coveted release date, of course.

I shouldn’t think this’ll be news to anyone at this stage but I’ll remind you that GTA VI will take us back to Vice City, with a new tale starring dual protagonists Jason and Lucia.

While recent rumours that claimed the game has been internally delayed were dispelled as false, there is some cancellation news that’s come as a shock to fans.

In case you missed it, a recent leak seemingly confirmed that Rockstar Games had previously cancelled both a sequel to Bully and several single-player GTA V story DLCs.

ICYMI: Take a look at GTA VI in action below.

This news was made public via a report by Insider Gaming, with files obtained reportedly mentioning both Bully 2 and a Cops N’ Crooks GTA V DLC.

Unfortunately, neither project ever saw the light of day. While this leak has been doing the rounds for a short while, it’s still seemingly catching fans by surprise.

“Are you telling me Rockstar cancelled Bully 2 and eight GTA V DLCs?” one declared, garnering over 2,500 upvotes.

“Bully is my favourite game ever. I’ll never not be sad not to get a sequel,” wrote Reddit user MaeronTargaryen, while EddyCI8 added, “Hands down the best game of the 21st century.”

Acrobatic_Apricot_96 said, “Who needs DLCs for GTA V when they can milk the online feature and get more richer doing it?” It’s a valid point.

Whether we will see single-player expansions for GTA VI remains to be seen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the game followed in GTA V’s footsteps with a focus on GTA Online outside of the main game.

“Everything changed after online mode was released,” added Visible_Elevator192.

GTA Online is both wildly successful and wildly unpopular amongst GTA fans. It’ll be interesting to see how it evolves with this in mind following the launch of GTA VI.
