GTA 6 fans are currently imagining what races could look like after seeing some footage from another game.

Rockstar Games is expected to release GTA 6 later this year, and while it's been well over a year since the first trailer, expectations for the upcoming title are high.

With GTA 6 being the first game Rockstar will release for the current-gen platforms, fans are trying to imagine what the gameplay could look like. After all, Rockstar is known for using console power to the maximum, if GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are anything to go by.

GTA 6 Trailer 1 still gives me goosebumps.

But with very little official footage to go off, we'll have to use our imagination and look at other games for an indication of what GTA 6 could be like.

Over on the GTA 6 Reddit page, a user posted a video clip with the caption "Imagine GTA VI rides and races looking like that."

The clip is from the PS4 game Driveclub, and it features a player driving a car from a first-person perspective against other racers, in a snowy mountainous area.

Driveclub was released in 2014 for the PS4, so it came pretty early in the console's lifespan. With that in mind, it still looks like a game that could be released today.

Hence why GTA 6 fans are excited by the prospect of the game looking like this.

"Crazy how no other game was able to replicate Driveclub's rain effects," wrote one user on Reddit.

"This game was so ahead of time," another user wrote. "It had graphics like this in f***ing 2014. This console generation has been so disappointing when it comes to graphics and visuals, you don't see impressive stuff like this anymore. Maybe GTA 6 will bring what's missing this generation."

Of course, it's important to temper your expectations. As one user put it: "This is a racing game, that made racing really well.

"People need to realize that GTA VI is not going to make racing feel as good as racing games, it's not going to make shooting feel as good as the shooter games, it's not going to make fighting feel as good as fighting game, etc. However, it will have all that in one package."

Driveclub was removed from sale in 2020 after the game's servers were taken offline. If you do want to play it, and you have a PS4 or PS5, you'll have to hunt down a physical copy.
