Despite no actual confirmation from Rockstar itself, we are pretty sure that Grand Theft Auto VI will feature the biggest map in the game’s history.
Set in and around Vice City, which in itself is inspired by Miami and Florida as a whole, players can expect Grand Theft Auto VI’s map to dwarf that of the one found in Grand Theft Auto V.
Check out some snippets of the map in the trailer for GTA VI below!
Featuring the city of Vice City as well as areas inspired by the everglades, mountainous areas, countryside, a supposed “meth county”, air and military bases and more, we can expect to spend a whole lot of time driving from point A to point B in Rockstar’s latest title.
Although all of this has not yet been confirmed, what we do know thanks to our first and only official GTA VI trailer is that players will get to spend some time on the beach and based on geography, it will be Miami Beach.

As a result, one fan has recently taken to r/GTA6 to give us some perspective on how large the game’s map will be based on the real life size of Miami Beach’s coastline.
“Seeing Miami Beach from the east and north really puts its scale into perspective. The concept map feels almost unbelievable,” the user wrote alongside comparison screenshots of the real-life Miami Beach skyline and concept art for GTA VI’s map.
It is clear that the coastline stretches for miles and gives fellow fans just another glimpse at the map’s potential.
“I genuinely hope that they will manage to make this map feel alive and explorable taking into account this scale,” the top comment by user KarimPopa said.

However, user beginnerNaught is feeling optimistic.
“I think they're gonna blow our minds like usual,” they wrote.
“RDR2 is still the most realistic game ever made to this day.
My expectations aren't ridiculous, all I know is they're gonna have us experience things in a game we never have before. And that is how they'll blow our minds.”

It is always a worry with expansive open-world games that, despite the map being large, a lot of it feels empty but with Rockstar’s attention to detail, it is unlikely that it will run into this problem.
Luckily, we only have a few months left until we can experience Grand Theft Auto VI, and its scale, for ourselves.
