GoldenEye 007 fans still say picking Oddjob in the multiplayer was cheating, and they're absolutely right. If you choose himn you're banned.

While the story mode of GoldenEye 007 followed the events of the film, complete with the lifeless, stretched out faces of Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean silently reenacting its pivotal scenes, everyone knows the multiplayer was where it was at.

Check out the re-release of GoldenEye 007 below.

Sneaking through vents, karate-chopping each other, fighting over the legendary Golden Gun ... it was endless hours of entertainment but was ruined by one character, Oddjob.

For the uninitiated, Oddjob was a henchman in the James Bond film Goldfinger, best known for being a bit on the smaller side and throwing a hat that can decapitate people, somehow. He’s become a famous Bond villain which earned him a spot in the roster for GoldenEye 007’s multiplayer.

For many though, he was considered cheating, as his shortened height in the game made it almost impossible to land a headshot without aiming properly. The bullets would often soar over his hat and you’d be dead before you could aim downwards.

He was banned as a playable character in thousands of households as a result, and has been tormenting modern audiences who’ve been playing the re-released version of the game on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo platforms.

In a Reddit post by dre10g, the character was once again put on blast by players, with many still holding contempt for the character decades later.

“The ‘No Oddjob’ rule. Pretty much everyone I've met that's played GoldenEye has implemented it," wrote one user.

“Man, I hated people picking him. It was hard enough to aim without that little guy running around poking at your ankles," added another while one comment read, “If someone picked him, we would enable the large head mode which made it super easy to kill him.”

Oddjob, ladies and gentleman, tormenting GoldenEye 007 players since 1997 and likely for many more years to come.
