‘Elden Ring’ Is Hiding A ‘Game Of Thrones’ Inspired Sword, Here’s How To Get It

Elden Ring is hiding a weapon that looks just like Game of Thrones' iconic Iron Throne - here's how to get it.

Yay, Elden Ring. Most of us love it, some of us hate it. But, let’s face it, if you fall into the latter category, it’s probably because you’re struggling with it a bit. Not that I’m judging, of course - it’s an undeniably difficult game, and most players are bound to get stuck at times. A lot of times, in fact.

While you can always power up by grinding for runes (if you want to do this fast, check out our guide here), one way your journey through the Lands Between can be made a little easier is with the help of a powerful weapon, and it turns out there’s a sword hiding in the game which isn’t just strong, but it also serves as a really cool reference to Game of Thrones’ iconic Iron Throne.

Want to grab the Game of Thrones sword for yourself? Check out our quick how-to guide below.

The weapon is called the Grafted Blade Greatsword, and it’d only take a single glance for any fan of the HBO series to recognise it. It’s a blade which is made from many other blades - and one you really wouldn’t want to accidentally step on barefoot. To use it, you’ll need to have at least 40 strength and 14 dexterity points.

It’s not surprising that there’s some Easter eggs hidden in Elden Ring which make nods to the iconic series - after all, George R.R. Martin, the author of the fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into Game of Thrones for TV, contributed heavily to FromSoftware’s latest title. He didn’t write the dialogue, but he essentially shaped the world and creatures that live within it - it’s a pretty big deal.

Another one of these references is way more subtle than the sword - the author’s initials have been tucked away in the very names of some of Elden Ring’s demigods. Take Godfrey, Rennala, Radagon, and Marika, for example. We see you, Mr. Martin. Let’s face it though, he totally deserves the accolade.
