The latest game to hit Xbox Game Pass has been hit with a load of bad reviews, and has quickly become one of the worst reviewed games of the year.
Game Pass subscribers regularly get access to a load of new games added to the service every month. The benefit of such services allows you to try out games without having to buy them for full price.
However, with so many games available on the subscription service, the quality of these games may vary wildly depending on your tastes. You may really enjoy some, but hate others. One of the latest games to hit Xbox Game Pass has been hit with a slew of negative reviews, and has quickly become one of the worst-reviewed games of the year.
As we reported earlier this week, Football Manager 26 - styled as FM 26 - has been criticised for various performance issues, with some claiming that the game runs in single-digit framerates. The game also has some user interface issues, and lacks certain features that were in previous Football Manager games. All-in-all, it’s something that the playerbase hasn’t taken too kindly to.

On Xbox, the game has an overall rating of 1.6, with 76% of the reviews being rated at 1-star. One review from user Bryn5520 calls it “The worst Football Manager game ever made.”
Another review by Missingno903127 says it “looks ugly and is an absolute pain to navigate. Not really ideal for a game where 99% of the gameplay is managing menus. How these games look and function function worse than Football/Championship Manager games from decades ago is beyond me.”
How's Football Manager 26 doing on other platforms?
Football Manager 26 isn’t doing too well on Steam either. At the moment, the game has 24% positive reviews on the platform, indicating a “Mostly Negative” score.
“Almost 4000 hours in FM games since Football Manager 2014,” reads one Steam review. “Thank you Sports Interactive for finally making a game so bad that my obsession is over.”
“This game is not even closed to being finished. The game is basically the same under the hood as its always been in terms of the database and how the game works, just with a terrible paint job slapped over the top by a four year old,” reads another review.
“They are basically charging us £50 to be their play-testers. And to make things worse, the only update they made for release day from the early access build was to remove the most useful feature in the game. You guessed it: The ‘report bug’ button.”
Well, that’s a little yikes. Considering the series took a two-year hiatus to try and improve things, it looks like this hasn’t gone according to plan.
