An Xbox Game Pass day one release has been roasted by subscribers for its supposed poor performance and quality.

Xbox Game Pass can be a useful service for trying out new games at a fraction of the cost. You may not want to spend $70 on The Outer Worlds 2, but when you can try it for $30 a month, it becomes a little more enticing.

Recent Microsoft controversies such as the Xbox Game Pass price increases may have deterred some people away from the service, but that hasn’t stopped some people from staying subscribed.

However, fans have also taken the recent offerings to question where exactly that money is going. One game, for example, is currently being roasted online for its alleged poor performance and quality.

SEGA released Football Manager 26 on Xbox Game Pass earlier this week, and it’s being called a “disaster” by those who’ve managed to check it out.

Is Football Manager 26 bad on console?

In the video shared below on Reddit, the short clip shows the game chugging at single-digit frame rates. Indeed, it seems the game is rather CPU-intensive, which may mean it struggles to keep up high frame rates on consoles compared to PCs.

“How do these games get certified for consoles and launch in such terrible states? Do they not have quality control for the store?” reads one comment on the Xbox Reddit page.

“Thats honestly really depressing. Not even management games are free from absolute garbage launches,” another comment reads.

“It's actually impressive to make something run this badly,” reads another comment, this time over on the Football Manager Games Reddit page

“Cyberpunk, which had all that backlash after it released in that state, was objectively a better game to run and interact with than this,” reads another comment. “I’m still in absolute shock that this is the condition it’s in.”

Ouch. Well that can’t be good for the series, which has generally been rather well-received in previous entries.

Indeed, the game currently has a 23% positive rating score according to Steam reviews, indicating a "Mostly Negative" rating.

It should be noted that Football Manager 26 is the first game in the series to be developed in the Unity engine, which may have contributed to the various issues this game seems to be facing at launch.

Hopefully Sega will be able to quickly patch these bugs out and improve the game before it catches too much fire.
