It is hard to believe that this time last year, many of us were just about wrapping up our playthroughs of this hit 2024 action-adventure title.
However, its popularity still continues to shine thanks to its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass library. I am, of course, talking about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
First launched back in December 2024 on PC and Xbox Series X/S , before following on PlayStation 5 back in April, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an action-adventure title based on the beloved franchise with the same name.
Developed by MachineGames but published by Bethesda Softworks, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes place between the events of 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and follows the titular archaeologist as he attempts to thwart a group of thieves who seek a power connected to the Great Circle.

With Troy Baker at the helm, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was destined for greatness and our very own Emma Flint called it a “whip-cracking” adventure.
“We become a part of the mysticism that bubbles beneath the surface of the mundane, allowing us a tangible insight into the life of an adventurer many of us have admired since childhood,” her review reads. “MachineGames, I tip my hat to you. You put everything into this. Not just your industry experience but your passion for Indiana Jones also, culminating in a breathtaking love letter to the valiant hero.”

The 2024 Release Continues To Impress
Since its launch back in December 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been part of the Xbox Game Pass library and as is the case with many titles such as this, it has helped boost its sales quite significantly.
Nevertheless, Game Pass subscribers are still stumbling across this gem a year later and with it receiving multiple year-end nominations including Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. Awards, some players are discovering it for the first time.
That is the case for one user over on r/xbox who recently shared their thoughts on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
“I just played the opening of it, and oh my goodness. It looks amazing,” they wrote.
“It plays amazingly, Troy Baker sounds just like Harrison Ford and yeah... If this game had come out when I was 12 I would have been blown away.
I remember being shocked at how good Emperor's Tomb looked when I first played it (in 2010-2011 mind you). This? This felt like actually playing the film.”
At the time of writing, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sits at an impressive 8.2 user score on Metacritic with fans praising its game direction, fun gameplay, and performance from Baker.
So if you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber and have yet to check out one of the year’s best games, make sure you wrap your whip around Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
