Released in October 2010, Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most popular entries from Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic action RPG series.

While the success of any Fallout game should not come as a surprise, the origins of New Vegas were still somewhat of an unexpected hit, considering that it was originally intended to be an expansion to Fallout 3.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Fallout: New Vegas takes players to the sunny regions of Arizona, California and of course, Nevada. Set in the year 2281, Fallout: New Vegas follows the events of a nuclear apocalypse in the year 2077, referred to by the series as “The Great War” as a result of conflict between the United States and China.

Post-launch, Fallout: New Vegas has benefited from plenty of official DLC expanding upon its story and deep lore. However, given the fact that this game was released 13 years ago, official DLC is now a thing of the past. Thankfully, the fantastic modding community has us covered with a wealth of awesome mods that continue to breathe new life into Bethesda’s ever-popular RPG.

Take for example the ‘Free Cheyenne’ mod that adds a whole new region to the game or ‘Nuevo Mexico’ which takes place five years after the events of the first Fallout game in which “every choice made will revolutionise the future for better or worse.”

Well, if you thought that Fallout: New Vegas couldn't get any better, then think again because you can also play it with friends all thanks to its multiplayer mod, which will no doubt give Fallout 76 a run for its money.

The Fallout: New Vegas multiplayer mod began its development in 2019 and since that time, its indie developers have been fine-tuning the experience. Details on how to play the Fallout: New Vegas multiplayer mod can be found on its dedicated website.

Fallout: New Vegas is out now on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. What’s more, it’s also backwards compatible with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Oh, it’s on Xbox Game Pass too. Happy days!
