Fallout: Miami looks like the best new Fallout in a long time

Welcome to Miami

Fallout fans of the world have been relatively starved of a new adventure since Fallout 4 released way back in 2015. Seven years ago!

Yes, Bethesda released a string of expansions for Fallout 4 that went some way towards keeping us invested in the post-apocalyptic fun, but we were hungry for more. It’s fair to say that 2018’s Fallout 76 did about as much to satisfy our appetite as a single dry cornflake at dinnertime.

The fact is, Fallout is at its best when embracing its single-player roots. Let us explore desolate wastelands and pick through the ruins and lost stories of another time. Preferably while listening to Billie Holiday and shooting Supermutants in the face with a shotgun built out of old soup cans.

Fallout: Miami, a stunning new fan expansion for Fallout 4, promises to deliver that classic Fallout experience that we’ve been waiting for for so long. A massive new mod for the 2015 game, Fallout: Miami takes the basic bones of Fallout 4 and creates an all-new adventure set, rather unsurprisingly, in Miami.

As you can see from the below trailer, Fallout: Miami also promises new enemies, items, sidequests, and more. Between this and the incredible-looking Fallout: London, it’s a pretty great time for Fallout mods.

“The Sole Survivor journeys to the sunny South, following the promise of a well-paid job but ends up embroiled in a conflict between various groups, some vying for power, others fighting to uphold their ideals,” reads the official description for Fallout: Miami.

“Fallout: Miami is a brand new world space with a gripping main quest, side-quests, equipment, settlements, and a host of interesting characters and companions! Uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances and participate in the age-old struggle between Order and Freedom.”
