Fallout meets Horizon Zero Dawn in new post-apocalyptic shooter

If we could blend the best of Fallout and Horizon Zero Dawn into one post-apocalyptic shooter, that would make one heck of a game, right? If that sounds like your cup of tea, then the upcoming shooter, Plan 8 might be worth checking out.

Not much is known about Plan 8 at the time of writing, other than it will be an open-world MMO shooter, published and developed by South Korean company Pearl Abyss. Previously, Pearl Abyss has achieved a great deal of success with its MMORPG Black Desert.

“Plan 8 is an exosuit MMO shooter, a title spearheaded by Minh Le as technical advisor, also known as the co-creator of the Counter-Strike franchise. A trailer for Plan 8, the first shooting game from Pearl Abyss, will be released at Pearl Abyss Connect. The game’s production is led by Seung-ki Lee, former environment art director of Black Desert Online and Black Desert Mobile,” reads the press release for Plan 8.

After watching the reveal trailer for Plan 8, it not only gives us Fallout vibes with its rusty, decaying post-apocalyptic world, but machines have risen to take over the world similar to the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and the Terminator movie franchise. The use of the exosuits in the game to bring the fight to the machines isn't too dissimilar to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Plan 8 does not have a release date at the time of writing, but it is expected to be released on PC, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with a bit of luck. If the reveal trailer is anything to go by, Plan 8 should be a treat for shooter and MMO fans. Hopefully, when the game is eventually released, it will play as well as it looks.
