In case you wanted to add a little spookiness to your Fallout 4 experience, this new quest add-on might be just up your street.

Fallout 4 has had many new expansions over the years, both official ones from Bethesda and unofficial releases by the community, and modders are showing no signs of slowing down.

As we tread closer and closer to Halloween, a new Fallout 4 quest titled Vault 117 puts a survival horror spin on the game, and it’s available to download now.

Fallout 4: Vault 117 is a spiritual successor to the previous mod, In The Flesh, and it features similar themes, vibes, and gameplay.

The mod features a “horror-inspired dungeon” set in Vault 117, and also features custom enemies to deliver new scares that aren’t found in the original game.

It shouldn't take you too long to beat, but is generally a decently sized mod for anyone who wants to play a new horror-themed quest for the game.

Mod creator RascalArt has teased that the mod is available in two separate parts, the first half where you’re trapped and powerless, and the second half where you regain that power and gain some catharsis over your enemies.

As far as what you need to play this mod, it requires the Automatron, Far Harbour, Nuka World and the Vault-Tec Workshop DLCs. So, essentially it requires owning the Season Pass.

Once you’ve installed this mod, head north of Jamaica Plain and find a giant billboard.

At the rear of the sign you will find a hatch, which is where the quest begins. Since the area is so dark, be sure to bring a flashlight.

In terms of other Fallout 4 mods we’ve covered recently, you can check out The Help House, a short quest which tells the story of a raider family, Companion Status Enhanced, an add-on that improves the follower experience, and Cutting Room Floor - Holotapes, a mod that restores some holotapes that were cut from the base game.

Fallout 4: Vault 117 is available to download now from Nexus Mods.
