A new free download for Fallout 4 makes a huge difference, introducing a feature we’ve all been begging for.
Now almost ten years old, Bethesda may be done with producing new content for Fallout 4, but that doesn’t mean that the community is.
Custom modded content for Fallout 4 consists of everything from simple UI improvements, to brand new quests and companions, and even some total conversions.
A new mod has added a feature that makes a huge quality-of-life difference, and it’s something I now can’t imagine playing the game without.

Companion Status Enhanced is a mod by kinggath that tweaks the HUD of Fallout 4 to include the status of your companions in the corner of the screen.
When you have a companion in your party, you’ll notice a small status bar in the top right-hand corner of the screen. It includes their health points and action points, as well as other stats.
It’s based on the earlier mod, Companion Status HUD, except the UI looks a lot cleaner, there are custom hand-made portraits for each companion, and there is extra customisation to tweak aspects like colour and text size.
It also includes a tracking system that enables a custom quest to track your companions.

Activating this will pull up an objective marker, allowing you to find your companion should they be lost. It’ll also inform you when they’re downed and need a Stimpak.
This mod will probably come in handy if you like to run with large parties. The game normally only allows one active companion to follow you at any given time, but there are mods to bypass this limit.
Companion Status Enhanced even supports this, should you choose to take multiple followers with you.
You can download Companion Status Enhanced for the PC version of Fallout 4 from Nexus Mods now.
