Fallout 4 is getting a brand new addition of content. Athlough your mileage may vary regarding how much this 'new' content adds to the game.
Fallout Day has been and gone, and, unsurprisingly, fans aren’t too happy with Bethesda following what was a decidedly underwhelming livestream.
Now, to be fair, there was a lot of cool stuff in there. The Fallout: New Vegas Anniversary Edition Bundle is neat (although I’m disappointed that it doesn’t contain a physical disc version of the game), the Fallout TV teaser posters were hype, and it’s nice that Nintendo Switch 2 owners are finally getting a port of Fallout 4.
However, the star of the show (at least, in Bethesda’s eyes) was the announcement of the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, which operates much in the same way that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition does.

Obviously, the Anniversary Edition contains the base game and all of its DLC, but the old Game of the Year Edition of Fallout 4 contained all of that as well, so what exactly is “new” about the latest version of the game? I’ll let the latest post on the Bethesda website explain that for me.
“But that’s not all! The Anniversary Edition also bundles over 150 pieces of Creation Club content, including fan favorites and previously unreleased items designed to enhance your journey”, states the official Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition post on Bethesda’s website.
“From new weapons and different Dogmeat breeds like a husky or a Dalmatian, to gameplay tweaks and quest expansions, there’s something for every Vault Dweller.”

Ok, well, if you ask me… that doesn’t sound awfully “new”.
From what I understand, all of the Creation Club additions included in the Anniversary Edition of Fallout 4 were available before the announcement was even made, so I’m not sure that Bethesda can get away with saying this is fresh content.
I suppose the truly new addition here is the “brand-new in-game Creations menu” that’s, from what I understand, only available in Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition.
Call me ungrateful if you like, but I’m not sure adding a new storefront to the game counts either. Plus, this new version of the game is only going to end up breaking thousands of game’s mods, so you’ll excuse me if I’m not exactly thrilled to buy it.

Oh, sorry, “mods” are these things that are like Creation Club downloads. Except they’re free. So y’know, superior to Creation Club content in every way.
