The Elder Scrolls 6 launch window has seemingly already been revealed

There's a convincing trail of evidence

The Elder Scrolls VI may feel like a distant dream, but it could actually be landing sooner than you think.

In fact, if you’ve been paying attention, you may have spotted that the game’s release window has already been teased on multiple occasions.

Of course, before we dive in, I should stress that until a game has ‘gone gold’, its launch is most definitely subject to change.

You may recall that a series of confidential documents were leaked during Microsoft’s trial against the US’ Federal Trade Commission.

One such document, published by True Achievements, showed that The Elder Scrolls VI was initially due to launch this year, in 2024, but this was a document conceived pre-pandemic.

As we all know, the pandemic slowed things down majorly. The proof is in the fact that Starfield most definitely suffered from several delays.

As pointed out by Reddit user Easter-Apricot6315, an additional document then surfaced from Sony pointing to a 2026 launch.

“TBC but expected 2026 or later,” read the file, published by Eurogamer.

This seems fitting considering the two-year delay of the pandemic, but there’s more.

The attentive Easter-Apricot6315 went on to point out that Todd Howard explained on the Lex Fridman podcast that they have between 12 and 18 months left of development followed by six to 12 months of polishing.

This would take us to … you guessed it, 2026.

I’m starting to wonder whether Easter-Apricot6315 is a detective in real life.

Todd Howard has also said that The Elder Scrolls VI will follow Bethesda’s normal launch cycle.

That usually consists of launch, a DLC in the following year followed by a second DLC the year after that.

That would see Starfield’s cycle wrapped up in 2025 leaving 2026 open for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Given that The Elder Scrolls VI is reportedly already playable internally, this is a pretty convincing trail of evidence.

Is it too soon to start a countdown clock?
