We’re rolling into the sixth week since the release of Elden Ring, and there is just no stopping people from delving into the massive fantasy world.

The map in FromSoftware’s latest is so large and densely packed with rich details that even with the sheer number of people playing, there is always more being discovered. Whether that’s a new speedrunning technique, an overpowered build, or a different method for cheesing a difficult boss, it feels like something previously unseen is found every day. The issue is when a friendly and all round helpful NPC is a little too hidden within the game world.

If you want to discover a new way to take down the Fire Giant, then look no further than the video below.

That was the fate of Boc the Seamster, an unassuming NPC who has a little trouble with accessing help. That’s because he’s rooted to the spot, literally, because our boy Boc has disguised himself as a tree. In order to discover him you had to be standing within a few metres of his trunk. Only then you could hear his voice, beckoning you towards him.

Luckily, FromSoftware have been taking notes on player feedback and have been happy to address issues with difficulty and balance. When people complained that they were having a little trouble finding Boc, the developer answered the call. The 1.03 update has ensured that those new to Elden Ring will be able to aid our friend without outside help.

As documented by Twitter user illusory wall, there have been two changes made to Boc’s side quest in order to help with his visibility. The first is that an item, an Arteria Leaf, complete with its shining purple signifier, has been placed near Boc to draw players closer. Secondly, you can now trigger Boc’s dialogue from much further away, even as far as the road.

Helping the Seamster out will reward you with the ability to alter your armour, so he’s quite an important character to find. It’s nice to know that now more players will be able to receive his thread-based blessings.
