DC fans rejoice, Injustice 3 is finally on the horizon

Where does it go from here?

We might finally be on the cusp of greatness, as Injustice 3 is closer than ever to becoming a reality.

The DC superhero series saw iconic characters clash in Mortal Kombat-esque brawls, starring the likes of Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern and more.

Check out the trailer for Injustice 2 below

It also featured an excellent story, where Superman is driven to the edge of madness after the loss of Lois Lane, his unborn child and the city of Metropolis, prompting a full takeover of the planet with himself as its leader.

Batman forms a resistance of heroes and villains to stop him, with Injustice 2 featuring two endings, one where Batman succeeds in imprisoning Superman and another where Superman tightens his grip on the planet with Brainiac’s technology.

The series has been begging for a third game, something the series creator Ed Boon has teased as a possibility.

Now MultiverSusie, an infamous data minor, is suggesting it might finally be happening with a tweet that read “MultiVersus shutting down is an injustice, then doing it all again is another injustice, leaving me without any leaks is yet again another injustice.”

MultiVersus was Warner Bros Games Super Smash Bros clone, starring a wide variety of characters from various IPs, including DC.

The game has since been shelved, making it more likely that Warner Bros will pivot towards easier wins like another Injustice game and hopefully the return of the Batman: Arkham series, or something similar.

Obviously nothing has been confirmed as of yet but something is definitely in development, and with the most recent Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat 1, being pretty much finished it’d make sense to have the next Warner Bros fighting game return to its DC property.

My question is if there is a third game how will it address the second game’s two endings? Will it make one of them canon?
