DC fans rejoice, as it finally appears that Injustice 3 could be on the way, at least according to actors associated with the game.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Injustice: Gods Among Us was released in 2013 and was the perfect blend of the mighty DC universe and Mortal Kombat.

Injustice: Gods Among Us may have lacked the brutal gore of the Mortal Kombat series, but it most certainly did not lack quality gameplay, with its high-octane action, deep learning curve and a constant feeling of “just one more match.”

Injustice: Gods Among Us also featured a compelling single-player campaign, with its story telling the downfall of the Justice League due to Superman being cruelly manipulated by Batman’s arch-nemesis, The Joker.

Then, in 2017, we were treated to its sequel, Injustice 2, which not only continued the story of its predecessor but it upped the ante with deeper gameplay mechanics, improved visuals, and an increased roster of characters.

Sadly, that would be the last game we’d see in the Injustice series, and fans have been desperate for NetherRealm Studios to complete its trilogy.

However, as reported by GameFragger, it looks like we may finally have news on Injustice 3.

According to a fan who attended Nostalgia Con, in Houston, Texas, in the USA, George Newbern (Superman) and Phil LaMarr (Aquaman/Green Lantern) reportedly told fans that Injustice 3 is currently in development.

Of course, we should take this speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. As far as I’m aware, there is no video footage of either actor confirming the development of Injustice 3, so we’ll just have to take the word of a fan.

What’s more, while not a 100% guarantee that actors will keep their lips sealed, if Injustice 3 is currently in development, I would guess that they have already signed a strict NDA, and if those lips have slipped, I would imagine that publisher Warner Bros. Games isn't all that impressed with this rumour.

As always, we’ll keep you posted should we hear further news on the development of Injustice 3.
