Although Days Gone didn’t have the biggest success story, it still managed to accumulate a legion of dedicated fans who have been crying out for a sequel.

Released back in 2019 by Bend Studio, Days Gone was a first-party PlayStation title that, despite performing reasonably well, never really made a mark like the others both in sales and notoriety.

Check out the trailer for Days Gone below!

The action-adventure game told the story of “desperation, betrayal and regret” as players took on the role of Deacon St. John, a drifter and a bounty hunter struggling to survive in a post-pandemic America.

“Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic”, the official synopsis reads.

“Step into the dirt flecked shoes of former outlaw biker Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter trying to find a reason to live in a land surrounded by death. Scavenge through abandoned settlements for equipment to craft valuable items and weapons, or take your chances with other survivors trying to eke out a living through fair trade… or more violent means.”

Since its release, its dedicated fans have been calling out for a sequel but with Bend Studio never officially announcing one, the bad news is about to get a whole lot worse.

According to a recent Tweet by Bend Studio’s community manager Kevin McAllister, the studio has now turned its attention to working on a brand-new IP and will not be returning to Days Gone.

“I apologize to our Days Gone community for continuously getting fed false hope and poor information by people looking for likes. It’s not fair to you all,” McAllister said in his tweet.

“We are currently working on a new IP, and when we have actual news to share it will come from our studio.”

It is sad news for Days Gone fans but still exciting to hear that a brand-new IP is underway. Although we have no information about it yet, let us hope it gets the recognition Days Gone deserved.
