‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Turns Glitch Into Hilarious ‘Harry Potter’ Easter Egg

The Cyberpunk 2077 easter egg replaces a glitch where NPCs would previously run straight into a concrete wall.

The months leading up to Cyberpunk 2077 were golden. A CD Projekt Red game with Keanu Reeves attached? What’s not to love, we all exclaimed. The trailer looked incredible. The excitement was tangible, and then the game came out. You know exactly what happened next.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a buggy mess full of glitches. Things were so bad that it was partially pulled from sale and didn’t receive a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S re-release until earlier this year. These days, the game is looking a lot better and is finally reaching its potential. Instead of sweeping its glitchy past under the carpet though, the developers found the humour in it all.

Fancy reliving Keanu Reeves' incredible appearance at 2019's E3? Don't worry, we all do from time to time. Take a look below.

When Cyberpunk 2077 released in 2020, there was a problem with NPC pathing in the Wellsprings area. NPCs crossing the road would walk straight into a concrete wall, and that’s where they’d stay - endlessly attempting to walk through the concrete. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you probably know what I’m about to say next as this sounds awfully similar to one of the franchise's major scenes.

TikTok user detailsingaming recently took to the platform to share that not only had the glitch been fixed, but a sign had been added to the wall which reads “Platform 69 ¾.” This is a clear nod to Platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross Station in the Harry Potter movies, which is where Harry and his pals run through the wall to catch the Hogwarts Express. Check it out below.

Beneath the sign, there’s blood staining on the wall alongside decals which read ‘Hit Here,’ as a nod to the many NPCs that previously smashed into the wall. It’s not the first time that Cyberpunk 2077 has referenced another franchise as the game also contains a hidden reference to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
