Cyberpunk 2077: The Movie drops ahead of Phantom Liberty

This Cyberpunk 2077 fan-made movie is a work of art.

Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of CD Projekt Red’s top titles alongside the likes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Granted, when Cyberpunk 2077 was initially released in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, to say that it had a troublesome launch would be an understatement. In fact, the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was considered to be so bad, that Sony deemed it unworthy for sale and pulled it from the PlayStation Store before it made a triumphant return several months later.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer below!

Thankfully, to the credit of CD Projekt Red and with the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S ports, the developers have worked tirelessly to not only bring Cyberpunk 2077 to the level of quality fans expect, but those expectations have arguably been exceeded following a series of massive updates. What’s more, CDPR promises to make Cyberpunk 2077 an even better experience with the upcoming Update 2.0 which will launch ahead of the highly anticipated Phantom Liberty expansion.

Outside of the video game media, Cyberpunk 2077 has been enjoying great success not only with the brilliant Edgerunners anime series on Netflix but also with novels, board games and much more. Unfortunately at this time, there are no plans to release a Cyberpunk 2077 movie, well, at least not yet. Thankfully, a big fan of Cyberpunk 2077 has our backs by releasing an unofficial movie.

The Cyberpunk 2077 movie in question has been created by Jack Hunt and consists of various character interactions and cut-scenes taken directly from the game. They have also implemented alternative camera angles, and the movie is proving to be a massive hit with fans.

At the time of writing, ‘CYBERPUNK 2077 THE MOVIE’ has over 15,000 views since it was last published on Hunt’s YouTube channel less than 24 hours ago with over 21,000 Likes and a mere 22 Dislikes (shame on you).

If for whatever reason you want to jump into the Phantom Liberty expansion without finishing the base game, this fan-made movie offers a great tool to get up to speed on all the story details. What’s more, it is also a fantastic recap for fans who would like to chill for an hour or so enjoying Cyberpunk 2077 from a unique perspective.

Cyberpunk 2077 fans in the comments section of the YouTube video were full of praise for the movie put together by Jack Hunt. “Well, this was much better than expected. God, I love this game,” said nyracalico3305. “I wasn't expecting it to be that good. You nailed it, man! Kudos,” adds aseya-yd8po. “That's a lot of tremendous work and serious thought put into this compilation! Thanks a lot for making this!” exclaimed VIBwithKhaled.

In related news, CD Projekt Red recently announced that Update 2.0 will be launching this week ahead of the highly anticipated expansion, and Cyberpunk 2077 now has flying cars and it’s awesome!

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released on 26 September for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
