Cyberpunk 2077 fans stunned by secret room filled with loot hidden in game's intro

All right then, keep your secrets

Just when you think you've seen everything a game has to offer, it manages to find a way to completely surprise you. Isn't that why we do what we do?

Cyberpunk 2077 is an absolutely massive game, with one of the best open worlds we've ever explored. Night City feels properly alive, from the grimy markets to the sparkling skyscrapers drenched in neon advertising.

As far as I was concerned, I'd scoured every inch of Night City and found almost all of its secrets. But, as I discovered today, I was completely wrong.

See, there's actually a hidden room filled with some pretty valuable gear in Cyberpunk 2077. It's a room I can almost guarantee you missed, too, seeing as how CD Projekt RED snuck the little blighter in right near the very beginning of the game.

During the end of the game's opening chapter, you'll find yourself attempting to escape Konpeki Plaza with Jackie. If you're anything like me, you were probably focused on getting out of there as quickly as you could, which means you also missed the secret room hiding in plain sight.

Instead of following Jackie to the exit, you can actually find a hole in the ceiling that takes you up and through to a small security room. In here you can find some optional lore and some armour.

If you decide to keep going from here, the Reddit user who originally found this secret demonstrates in the video (below) that you can even get back up to the roof from where you and Jackie fell.

Oh, and you can blast the Drone who shoots (and kills) Jackie, if you're in the mood for revenge. Although from the look of the clip, I don't think you're supposed to be able to get back up there.

It just goes to show, it's always worth stopping to take the time to explore. Even when you're being forced to fight your down through a skyscraper full of guards who think you just murdered the emperor.
