Cyberpunk 2077 players find secret NPC we've never met before

With a world as big as Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City, it should come as no surprise that players are making discoveries such as this intriguing NPC who we’ve never met before.

Released in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, at least on consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 was off to a rough start with reports of so many bugs, that it rendered the game unplayable for some. After a series of content updates and quality-of-life improvements, Cyberpunk 2077 is now the game that developers CD Projekt RED promised it to be.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer below!

That being said, I can’t speak on the current standard of Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen consoles, but at least on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the sci-fi RPG by CDPR is a delight and with its 2023 expansion, Phantom Liberty, that was the sweet cherry on top.

We could be here all day sharing our tales of Night City whether its epic missions gone right or wrong, moments that made us laugh or cry and encounters with NPCs such as the one that is the topic of today’s discussion.

As reported by Screen Rant (via the YouTube channel Kazuliski), throughout Night City, whether it is videos, flashbacks (aka Braindances) or written documents, you can uncover secret tales of Cyberpunk 2077 but perhaps none are more intriguing than the NPC known as Dr. Paradox.

Dr. Paradox seems to have a knack for spreading anti-corporation propaganda to the residents of Night City. He seemingly hijacks TV screens and if you pay little attention to them, there’s a good chance they would have been missed.

In Night City, players can find loads of hidden shards which reveal interesting lore. It’s a common belief that depending on how many shards you find, it could have an impact on how often Dr. Paradox appears.

Some Redditors have speculated that Dr. Paradox’s broadcasts not only appear at random but they may also appear less frequently when playing a ‘Corpo’ life path compared to a ‘Street Kid’, the latter of which is said to result in more appearances of the propaganda preaching NPC.

However, it seems that regardless of the life path that you choose for a campaign in Cyberpunk 2077, the best way to discover Dr. Paradox's tales is by hunting down shards. If you are stuck on where to find shards, there are plenty of YouTube videos showing exactly where they can be discovered.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Its Phantom Liberty expansion is exclusive to PC and new-gen consoles.
